      Tommy Lee Jones hated Jim Carrey. Serious actors probably hate the improvising of comedian’s.

      She’s a professional and he’s a goofball. I get it. Not everyone is into clowning on the set.

      Some of his stuff is funny. Not all of it. Being manic and going fast and loud is a thing but it’s not everything

      I mean…it worked! Her character is supposed to be thoroughly sick of his shit, and they both play that very well.

      Ok, but this has to be taken in the context of the fact that Sally’s father died during the filming of Mrs. Doubtfire. It only came to light when Robin sensed something was off and asked her if she was ok. She burst into tears and told him, at which point Robin told the director and the whole production that they were wrapped for the day, especially Sally, so deal with it. And then he walked off with her.

      She also recently said that they would play Zelda games together during downtime (games she still plays today), and that when her father passed away while shooting, Robin immediately shut down production to allow her to be with family.

      As someone who is typically referred to as „a lot“ (but obviously nowhere near as funny as Robin), I get it. 

      Growing up means realizing that you have to accept that you’re not going to necessarily be everyone’s „thing“ and that’s okay. No one’s wrong in these situations it’s just the way it is.

      Clickbait title. Out of context it makes her sound humorless but if you watch the interview she says how at one point Pierce Brosnan made a fart sound with his mouth and that made her lose it and Robin was like „oh, is THAT what it takes?“. It’s funnier when you hear the whole story and she adored Robin Williams.

      I mean her dad died during production, but we’ll just leave that important detail out of the title 😒

      Fun Robin Williams encounters I’ve had, both while running on the boardwalk on the beach in San Diego.

      First time: I’m running up behind an older guy with two bigger dudes flanking him. They’re taking up the whole path so I give an „ope, just gonna sneek by you here“. As I pass, I look and see it’s Robin Williams. The only thing I can think to say is „oh hey!“. He goes. „Oh hey YOU! You’re making me look bad!“. I was timing myself so I didn’t slow down and just said „Sorry!“.

      Second time: A week after the first, same situation. This time I realize who it is so before I get to him I yell „Ope! Coming up behind you!“ He remembered me and said „come on man I thought we talked about this. You’re making me look bad!“.

      Never saw him again, but those were fun little interactions. Seemed like a cool guy.

      Listen, I can relate. Most of the time I did not find Robin to be very funny. Doesn’t mean I didn’t appreciate his humor or his endless energy to improve everything under the sun. But a lot of times it didn’t land. Or was corny. Or was just too “try-hardy”. It didn’t bother me because one thing Robin was, was an absolute “authentic”. He was who he was. And he was talented beyond reason. He had a magnetism that was not of this earth.

      Robin Williams was fun to watch, but it would have probably been rather irritating to be around him at times. Overall, by all accounts, he was a great guy, but still, at times, he was probably a lot, like dealing with a rambunctious toddler.

      I mean, if you believe Matthew Lawrence, Robin Williams was going through really bad depression at that time when he wasn’t in character

      Are there any good documentaries that delve into Robin’s childhood and home life? He was a brilliantly funny, once in a lifetime kind of talent. But I got the impression that both his empathy for others and his compulsive need to be the comical center of attention and make others laugh was developed as a defense and mask due to being a sensitive person who had been deeply hurt as a child.

      What amazes me was how brilliant an actor he was in dramatic roles. He deserved much more credit for his dramatic acting.

      Don’t get me wrong here, I am a massive Williams fan. Absolute comedy genius but long shifts, seven days a week at work with a colleague with his energy would be challenging.

      How can you not laugh though? Like the scene where he goes to his brother and he does different impressions while trying on different lady costumes is hilarious

      This is like the 9th or 10th article about Robin Williams on the set of Mrs Doubtfire to make it my feed this week.

      Is this just bots reposting again and again. Did something in the news come out recently? What is this nonsense?
