    1. I almost failed to realize what sub we were in. Literally having to erase the misdirection comment. I’m sure it’s a fact filled objective look at the evidence. Certainly. 100%

    2. Edit didn’t realize this was r/space. So far there is no scientific evidence of UFOs, aliens etc.

Sounds like a distraction from other files.

Hmm yes this certainly isn’t meant to be a distraction from anything

Aliens are not visiting Earth, period, there is absolutely no evidence of that. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

      >In a statement, the Pentagon said that President Donald Trump “is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.”

      lol

    6. Friendly reminder that UFO/UAP doesn’t automatically mean „extraterrestrial“.

Just before everyone starts freaking out or whatever.

Yall remember the Arizona lights in the 90’s? Probably just drones huh? They would’ve been top secret back then probably. So much of this stuff looks like drones, planes, balloons or light reflecting. Disappointing really

Good time to plug Carl Sagan’s “The Demon Haunted World.” Short version: it’s never aliens.

Almost all of these were previously public info. The FBI or CIA having a file of a report doesn’t make the report true.

I’ve seen something very not normal with my own eyes, but there’s really nothing in these files.

    10. Plug for the documentary ‘Mirage Men’ that covers how the USAF has been using the guise of UAP to cover for experimental aircraft testing. Actively seeding disinformation into the community for years.

I hate that UFO has become synonymous with aliens. Like, think for a while. What is the chance of macroscopic life existing in the same time? Add to it the time needed for civilizations to emerge, given the life isn’t wiped out. Maybe there are a few planets in our galaxy with macroscopic life, but certainly no other civilizations. Were there any before us? Most likely. Will there be any after us? Absolutely. The highly unlikely to exist aliens would almost certainly not be able to travel thousands of light years, and if they could, they would just enslave, or outright destroy us.

I see a lot of negativity about this being posted in /Space. Am I the only one who’s a skeptic but also thinks this is an appropriate place to post about it? The article is by Wired, not Alex Jones.

That said, somebody smarter than me want to take a stab at what was going on with Apollo 17? What were they seeing? I’m sure there’s a rational scientific explanation.
