    1. I mean…even the judge understood, she only got 3 years..who does that to dogs? Inhuman.

On the one hand, I don’t blame her. On the other hand, I still don’t blame her. Had the dogs put down for no reason. Why would someone do that?

Vets don’t just put dogs down for fun, there must have been some sort of reason for this

    4. What a terrible article. I went searching for more info and came across this: https://dogstodaymagazine.co.uk/2026/01/15/woman-who-stabbed-husband-for-putting-dogs-down-cleared-of-attempted-murder/ and this https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/husband-dogs-put-down-plunged-37126287

I am very confused. Where was she when she was pouring a drink? Did she have booze in the car? She had a knife in the car, surely that’s premeditated?

Her daughter told her to come get the dogs or they would be put down and she didn’t. As a dog person if someone made that threat I would be very angry but also remove the pet that’s in harms way. The dogs despite being small had behavioural issues and were being kept in a one bed flat and attempts had been made to re-home them which were unsuccessful.

The story is being framed as pets being put down by jilted ex rather than irresponsible owner abandons pets which ex.

Dogs could have gone to a rescue, maybe they tried and were rejected but my main point is absolutely ridiculously pathetic reporting to rile people up through a headline.

Harming pets or threatening to is a known tactic that abusers use, it’d be worth looking into if the law can protect against it or punish it more than it already does with general efforts against domestic abuse.

Would a vet put down dogs that are fit and well? I would assume they have a duty of care to the animals right ?

      >Keith Bridger told the court he said „Claire, you’ve stabbed me!“ to which Mrs Bridger said „Yeah, I’m [expletive] going to do it again you absolute [expletive] how dare you kill my dog.”

      I love „Clair, you’ve stabbed me!“

dogs are awful, needy, loud, dirty, smelly, dangerous and really fucking annoying

Vet wouldn’t do that for no reason so i doubt it was vindictive. How did she get away with only 3 years? If this was the other way around the guy would be gone for good.

    10. This story is regularly posted and due to the lack of information it seems to sort most people into one of two categories:-

      • Those who own dogs.

      • Those who have lived with dogs with issues.

Do vets ask to see ownership papers before putting a dog down? What’s the process there?

Was the relationship already fairly fraught?

The article doesn’t really reveal enough about the nature of their relationship beyond describing them as “estranged”, but casually informing someone that an animal companion they loved has been put down hardly seems tactful. It reads less like sensitivity and more like something intended to provoke, distress or push a button.

What she did was wrong, but, the blasé and unpleasant manner it was potentially conveyed doesn’t come across especially kindly either. It seems needlessly blunt, perhaps even said to elicit a reaction. ..

Another bullshit article that wants to ignite a gender war between men and women, again.

This was her husband, who she had gotten the rewcue dogs with and who had lived with the dogs since 2020. They were undergoimg a divorce and she left the dogs with him. He already had knowledge of how the dogs were because he lived with them before, and he surely was the one to agree to take them in. So his actions are completely inexusable.

Yeah I think my wife would do the same thing if I’m being honest. I’m a distant second on that totem pole.
