      While it’s good to see, the fact that it things got to the point where it feels like a huge win is disconcerting.

      And start jailing the “consultants” who only exist not to consult but to help people defraud the system for financial gain.

      Trudeau literally held these iniatives back.

      It’s incredibly important we remember and learn from this. History is important. This isn’t about blaming today’s issues on past PMs. It’s about recognizing the tools of division they utilized to placate their corporate overlords. Trudeau said so many nice things and did so much that was terrible. Next time we get a PM like him, people need to be educated and recognize it. We can’t say numbers are racist next time. They aren’t.

      It would make sense to pause all new PRs and TFWs and use freed resources to weed out immigrants and citizens who obtained their status by scamming the system.

      Hopefully they close down diploma mills, fake students, fake refugee claims etc, the system has been severely abused for far too long

      Unless they start arresting and jailing the consultants/employers/immigrants actively involved in this, nothing is going to change.

      I’m not saying legit immigration fraud doesn’t happen, but I feel like most of the time, it’s would-be immigrants buying into something that is clearly a scam, but promises an easier but clearly illegal way into the country

      How we as a country have been so lax about immigration, particularly the last decade, is a mystery we will need to ponder as we spend the next decade dealing with the consequences.

      Immigration is needed but should be strictly controlled and monitored for so many reasons.

      I hope it targets businesses abusing temporary foreign worker programs as well as fake schools bringing in kids etc.

      Ain’t going to change anything. Barriers to entry are so lax that any tom dick and harry with absolutely no language or education could start working as an immigration agent. The exam’s a joke as well.

      Between them and Realtors, Canada ensured its reputation as a country of scam artists. Car salesmen laughing their way because they are not in contention of being the big ol’ scammers anymore.

      I truly hope AI to replace these jobs soon enough.

      I won’t believe Govt’s intentions one bit as long as the LMIA program is still standing tall. This needs to be abolished first. More than 90% scams would go bust overnight.
