this is stupid and Putin should have stop this war years ago, Russia/Russians/Ukrainians/Soviets were fundamental to end WW2 we should all celebrate or we would be speaking German right now and milions would have been gas’ed
This is more of a big deal than it may initially appear. The Russian mindset is that all parades are displays of strength and power. The idea of a fun one (mardi gras, sports victory, ticker tape) is completely alien to them.
Canceling their most important show of strength sends a message to their entire population that the regime is weak.
Maybe there’s nothing to celebrate? 🤣
Could it be that the parades cancelled in these regions were done because air defense assets were withdrawn to go and protect moscow? These regions might actually be part of a target list for Ukraine.
