    1. Package it with – political candidates must give speeches only in designated areas, they are not allowed to use PA systems, and they cannot have staff drive around near residential areas blaring their ads – and I’d probably support it.

    2. I agree. Moreover, no more bus megaphone📢 trash in the neighborhoods, or on city streets for that matter.

Make a civil discussion at a park, with a planned date.

No need to raise the living, or the dead.

God. Was almost about to agree when I read “make it illegal to shout loudly…”

But while they’re talking? I guess they want to be the only ones screeching.

    4. The first half of this had me excited, then I realized it didn’t address the thing that annoys everyone

Fuck that. The article states that politicians spouting election propaganda with megaphones is ok. It’s the spectators who will be arrested if they shout at politicians or play loud music while the “speech” is going on.

    6. I think people are misreading the headline haha this is terrible law. This is about outlawing hecklers and protesters. NOT stopping the loud megaphone speeches

That seems like it’s going to be a massive limitation of free speech. Why not just ban the trucks? Everybody hates those, and they have never generated a single conversation.

    8. OK, so one person can’t shout loudly. But what if I bring in, say, two dozen people humming? As a lot of British schoolteachers will tell you, a classroom full of hummers is enough to send someone insane.

Typical politicians dodging the issue. Clearly it is the disruptive gaijin that force the honorable candidates to have to shout!!!1!

Please stop the cars for the love of god, stop the cars. Last month was INSANE. Every single day, like 30 cars came through my neighborhood, sometimes overlapping each other. It’s really annoying.

Yeah but they are the ones who are the loudest speaking on a mini van with a huge ass speakers during campaign. Is there any laws for them to shut up or something like that??

JFC I really want to see what a day is like for the average politician at the Japanese Diet.

There are SO many things here that need attention asap and *this* is what they’re wasting their time on???

I whole heartedly believe it took 10 unnecessary meetings and 2 business months for them to announce they want people to be a bit quieter. JFC. How do you even enforce this? Police are gonna carry a decibel meter now?

(Sorry, I’m tired and cranky and this is just silly).
