Now the new government will be free to steal how much they want. We might even become the next Hungary

Disappointing development. Why did the pro-EU government collapse, especially when Hungary has become pro-EU again?

So now what, far-right Moscowite government forms in Romania after we gave Orbán the boot? That would be amazing

The government and opposition have more in common than you might think. Both are comprised of right-wing populist parties, which are engaged in frequent acts of corruption.

Neither care much about the welfare of the ordinary citizen, and both, in fact, tend to either cut the funding of public services and social security or embezzle the funds and then borrow money in order to fill that hole. Factor in tax evasion, something that nobody has done anything against, and that explains our budget deficit.

Whenever their interests diverge, we get a political crisis that makes the situation even worse.

FKKK that corrupt party called PSD! Party of Social Democrats my ass!
I heard on a podcast that it’s the 10th government in about 10 years, which is so messed up!
They need to lose even more votes in the next election than the record they did in the last election!

    6. I wonder why they couldn’t find a common ground, that guy has _unity_ written all over his face

Sometimes I think it was 20 Years too early to integrate this eastern European countries into the EU with full rights.

      PSD dropped the mask.

They always were like Smer – now they are officially in bed with the far-right.

These socially conservative kleptocractic parties of Eastern Europe calling themselves „Social Democrat“ were never „pro-EU“ or „democratic allies“.

    9. this is terrible and trump will pounce on this and the EU in general

EU needs to step in before trump

Today is a sad day for Romania.

Our last chance remaining is our president Nicusor Dan to dissolve the parliament and have anticipated elections.

Otherwise, the last man close the door.

For those who don’t know the peculiarities of Romanian politics, the math is simple … PSD has parliamentary majority with 22% (or about) AuR is second with (20% as of late) , so PSD finds itself in the position of ‚pulling the strings‘ when they can form any supermajority aliance.

People simply don’t understand that the President has limited powers even with the right to name the PM , that’s really beside the point when your top parliamentary parties colude to overthrow or do not support your presidential choice. Even If they wouldn’t push a motion, they could simply deny any vote or law pushed by the government … The Parliament is Voting proposed Laws into approval, not individuals or members of the Government.

Now Simion finds himself in an optimal position to put pressure and eventually dissolve the current government even without any plan at hand while taking 0 responsibility for the current situation, because, in all honesty they didn’t contribute to it … i Totally get why so many fall for the bs of this guy or worse, for the likes of Georgescu, because the gen pop has no ideea how shit works regarding laws/rights/political parties, who names who and how can PSD still control the narrative even with 22% only.

What will happen is, Romania will get into huge (we already are there) economical issues once an AuR+PSD government will be formed (yeah, yeah, „they will never do it“ my ass), and the EU will start to pull out of Romanian deals because, what Psd and AuR wants is to be left alone to steal in peace the last available part until the country sinks to bankruptcy.

Imagine Maga USA with Trump but x10 wrose setup overall because the country is already in deep shit.

Bolojan should break from PNL and form a party under his lead even from opposition, until the +40% bunch of Romanians who can’t use critical thinking (or standard cognitive functions) will realise how SO MUCH MORE WORSE shit can get with AUR and Simion in the Government.

    12. Pro/anti-EU has nothing to do with this. Corrupt party (PSD) rather throws the government under the bus than work under PM with less corruption
