      The point is that he is declaring a unilateral ceasefire, which putin thinks he can do and Peskov specifically said it. The whole thing is to refuse to acknowledge Ukraine has any agency or exists- that’s why putin made a point to ask Trump for a ceasefire not Ukraine. The idea is that Ukraine is just a puppet of the West.

      Which is all fiction- but you wonder how much of a true believer putin is. Most of the russian talking heads are just cynical- but putin may be like Trump. He might actually fully believe all his own bullshit.

      Its a good strategy, Rusia declares a ceasefire for may 9th, ukraine say ok but you have to stop shooting at us for 4 days prior or we WILL relatiate.

      Ukraine knows they won’t stop attacking, firing missles and drones at civilians.

      So when Russia breaks the ceasefire, May 9th parade is going to be a target.

      I like how he declared this the day after taking out some bigwig’s luxury apartment in Moscow. Ukraine is building double the drones than Moscow and they have drone killers that are 90% effective. If they hold off sending them for one or 2 days, they’ll just send them in one big wave when Puti breaks the ceasefire.
