as it stands right now, as soon as you register to vote, that info is handed over to political parties. I don’t think many voters would find that appropriate.
EDIT: one thing to add: political parties are expressly excluded from privacy law requirements. As legislated just last month under bill C-4 :
„Every federal party except the Greens chose on Thursday to grant themselves an indefinite exemption from laws protecting the privacy of Canadians, rejecting Senate concerns about Bill C-4.“

Deeply concerning? What is he, Susan Collins?
The far-right leaders of this movement have actively doxxed millions of Albertans, conspired with an enemy who threatened to annex us, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they forged signatures on their little ballots. This, like any fascist movement, is cynically dishonest.
