They are buying 50 F35 and 25 F15 (according to article) with 100/50 been total fleet size.
Given US aid comes with the requirement it be spent on purchasing military equipment from the US I wonder how much the US taxpayer is spending on Israel’s new jets.

The backbone of the Israeli Air Force, i.e. F-16s and F-15s are mostly from the 80s and 90s. Given how many flying hours they have put in over the last years, it is fairly inevitable Israel will have to accelerate their replacement. So expect even more purchases than the total fleet size of 100 F-35 and 50 F-15EX.
Notably, the military aid deal Israel has with the US runs out in 2028 and has already been allocated for a big part on CH-53Ks, KC-46s, and alike. Let’s see what the likely new deal will look like

Genuinely curious, but where does Israel get all its money from?

Who is paying for that? Recent F35 acquisitions were made with defense aid package from US(according to this same Jerusalem Post)
US supplying Israel at own expense and ghosting european allies with AA interceptors while having tantrums because they didn’t join in Iran war is such a joke at this point

its always funny to see how different US aid is characterize when its given to Israel vs other countries like Ukraine on reddit.
Israel – „US taxpayers are on the hook for paying Israel’s new F-35 jets!“
Ukraine – „The aid is being used to pay US defense companies in America which means jobs for Americans!“

Heading is misleading, American tax dollars are buying Israel a bunch of new jets

**25 F-35 and 25 F-15s**. It’s unbelievable how a simple news can be misreported in so many different ways. After those purchases are delivered (somewhere in the 2030s), Israel will have 100 F-35 and 50 F-15IA, this is not counting the other fighter jets that Israel has like 170 of F-16s and 66 of older versions of F-15.
Gonna blow up ao many nore school children with those. Sponsored by the American government.

I love how we give Israel billions of dollars worth of weapons and money and then they take the money to buy more weapons we didn’t just give them. It reminds me of Nvidia giving OpenAI money so that they can buy AI chips from Nvidia. Just one big circle jerk, but with countries and peoples lives.

[What government approved is creation of two new squadrons, one of f-35 and one of F-15, each squadron is 25 jets.](https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israel-approves-purchase-from-us-of-2-more-squadrons-of-f-35i-and-f-15ia-fighter-jets/)
