Rösti versuchte immer wieder, den Text bezüglich der 10 Millionen Einwohner im Abstimmungsheft abzuschwächen – stieß dabei aber auf Widerstand im Bundesrat.

Typical.
It is a disgrace to our democracy that we have to discuss bullshit like this initiative. Even if you agree with its goals this is a terrible way to go about reaching them.
Are we the US, where the country is being driven off a cliff by uneducated, angry and misinformed assholes?
This is highly disputed initiative. On one side those who got advantage of it, like mostly employers or those coming into Switzerland. On the other side the professionals who saw their pay being hit hard by the EU competition.
The Swiss white collar took a hit, especially within the last years. The blue collar took a even a greater hit. A Swiss carpenter charges 120 CHF per hour. You get one from Poland with 20-30 CHF per hour. Besides the Polish guy might be more flexible and deliver better quality. Getting the Polish one is a hassle, but bottom line it might be worth it. Better quality and lower cost.
Based on my personal interest I am mostly against it. But I understand that a lot of people might be for it.
The title is a bit misleading, he didn’t weaken the text for the initiative, he wanted to weaken the criticism in the pro/contra section. And that is super shady, it’s good that the others blocked that.
SVP is a pro-oligarchy party that pretends to care about small citizens when they actually only care about enriching their rich friends. They only use xenophobia as a tactic to get voted in power, but their rich friends actually benefit from wage dumping.
His surname is Rösti and he’s being met with resistance? Lol
I m really keen on discovering the result of this initiative.
– the rent are going crazy
– that s pretty impossible to buy a property in some places even if you work in that city
– the social system is more an more used since salaries are less raised compared to the costs of living
– our hospital depend massively on stranger since they were unable to make salaries attracive for swiss people
So they (politics) are one of the reason why we are in such situation, defending all the time money and profit. Now we have an initiative that is here just to fu**ed up the whole system and they are all crying.
Maybe this will help us to understand the problematics that the citizen is facing on a daliy basis ans why she/he would like to vote for such dangerous initiative.
Oilbert at the knobs. A bad thing not only for the envronment. Look abroad for further insight.
This initiative is another fear mongering BS!
Nobody to talk about Economics 101: When you open borders, it benefits the mobile economic factors: immigrants, capital coming in to invest. Locally, for businesses, it brings prospects of reducing labor costs. In short, growth — but growth achieved at the cost of inequalities that primarily affect local workers who are already established and have less training. Because obviously, the laws regulating immigration, for example to fight against wage dumping, have been drafted with a liberal slant, meaning there will never be enough inspectors relative to the number of companies, and the penalties will be laughable. We can also see that with this immigration having accelerated even further in recent years, even the labor markets in finance and IT are feeling the strain.
As for me, my mind is made up — I’ve been waiting for this since the 1992 vote.
So in germany we have a lot of influence from Peter Thiel and other questionable bullionairs – is it similar in Switzerland?
It’s not shady. I’m glad there is input from all sides. I repeatedly find the booklets left leaning as the wording is biased.
(Perspective of a non svp voter)
So many brainless comments here. Put emotions in check and reason this out objectively! For me it is a physical problem. Housing, space available for development etc need to keep up pace to maintain the same delivery. If it is correct that the additional pressure is coming from immigration running independent of what the country can physically support, then sure…the people should decide what to do about the situation.
