I love how he couldn’t stop talking about the plane even after he sold it, pretty much saying he truly deserved it. Now that people are asking for transparency and accountability on the purchase and sale documents, he’s „moved on“ from the issue. It’s shocking how he continues to behave in a manner that feeds into the corrupt and out-of-touch narrative he’s building around himself. With all of the other attempts to hide information with the FOI changes, you’d think he’d have some self-awareness to prevent any more behaviour that exudes a lack of transparency. Looks like the pressure might be starting to get to Ford because this is just sloppy.

I hope a journalist can obtain the information with a FOI request.
Ohh, yeah…forgot those aren’t a thing anymore.

The government’s refusal to show the receipts for that jet is a calculated play for time. By claiming they have moved on, they are betting the public will stop asking for the math before an auditor can look at it. Without a bill of sale, there is zero proof that the full $28.9 million actually made it back into public accounts.
This lack of transparency is protected by Bill 97. That legislation was built to keep records on personal devices and private emails hidden from the public. If the jet deal was discussed via text or personal phone, Bill 97 ensures those details stay secret forever.
We are being told to trust that no money was lost to middleman fees or commissions. But trust is not accountability. We should continue to demand the exact receipts. Taxpayers have a right to know where their money went and how much of it actually came back.

Turns out when you make it illegal to compel documents from ministers, and then go do a stupid fucking thing, people will actually hold you to account until they get a fucking answer.
You don’t get to decide when the public moves on Premier. Release the fucking documents first

Steffan Watkins makes a very compelling case that the purchase never went down like Ford claims.
There is no public record of a sale or resale. Highly possible that the whole thing was leaked to cover the FOI scandal and to justify a long term lease instead.

Why we need FOI and accountability.
Because „We’ve moved on“ is not something that should be unilaterally declared in a democracy by a corrupt leader.
