My mother has similar eyes. I think it’s part mental illness, like Borderline Personality, exacerbated by the light blue eyes, which she also has. She has legit crazy eyes just like Erica. But when her mood changes, they go almost completely black, full pupil dilation that takes over the eye. She blacks out and doesn’t remember what she says or does during those moments.
