Yes. Because he answers to Putin.
Back in the 20th century it took the UK decades to come to terms with the fact that the highest levels of its national security decision-making had been hijacked by Soviet moles. People did everything they possibly could to ignore, deny, deflect, and cover up the fact, all while the moles in question continued to do incalculable harm to the nation.
Looking back it seems insane to have spent so much effort denying and deflecting, instead of facing what was going on, when everyone else around the world could see it was happening.

I bet the US will still be buying billions of dollars worth of Ukrainian interceptor drones though……don’t need Ukraine except when we actually rely on them for their superior drone technology….

Not surprising in the least. His proposal would never pass ‚as is‘ anyway so let’s see if congress forces some aid back in to the budget.

My country, much like Ukerainia did once, puts faith in the US coming to its aid if attacked. Now we’ve had 100% tarrifs on essential goods imposed. Trade agreements ripped up. Defense agreements ignored.

Just imagine, in a rational world, where the US stepped up and helped ukraine instead of wringing our hands during biden and being combative during trump. We could help them soundly defeat the russians, make putin a non issue, and invite them to NATO where we could integrate all their knowledge and experience and drone tech.
Too bad trump was more worried about getting something on biden in 2018/19 and never forgets when someone doesnt give him everything he wants.
Ukraine, ill never stop being sorry for my country not doing you right. Hopefully we get ourselves out of this cycle of stupidity and years down the road be reliable allies again. I fear yall will surpass us with the EU and leave us floundering in our own mess. Slava Ukrainia
i dont like this reality, but it is the reality. europe has to step up. unfortunately, the have repeatedly let ukraine down time and time again. europe needs an inspiring leader to convince ITSELF that they are already at war with Russia, and they have to re-arm to fill the american vaccum.
