Well, in that case, we in Germany no longer need to be so accommodating when it comes to allowing our country to be used as a stopover. Let’s see how the US intends to maintain its influence in the Middle East if it no longer has any bases anywhere in Europe.

      Bye

Is there a way to invest in the assumption Trumps actions will always help Putin?

Sure things don’t come along often, might as well make some money.

And redeploying them where? Sending them all back home would be counter productive so will they be redeployed around Europe or off to the Middle East?

The only thing getting hurt here is U.S force projection.

Germans want the US to leave; Trump is inadvertently playing into that. Don’t get the outrage here. Europeans should be militarizing themselves anyways

It’s wild we’re letting trumps fragile emotions impact actual real world policy.

    6. > „The president has been very clear about his frustrations about our allies‘ rhetoric and failure to provide support for U.S. operations that benefit them,“ the senior Pentagon official said.

No, these „U.S. operations“ do not benefit anyone.

    7. I can’t believe that those 5,000 soldiers just twiddle their thumbs all day. They must be responsible for some work that helps the US fight their wars, like fuel airplanes transiting, or fix up wounded soldiers, or be forward stations for ammunition or parts caches. Etc, etc.

Removing them probably degrades American military preparedness.

Isn’t this kind of meaningless? There are still some 30k US troops in Germany. The US isn’t going to do anything that could drastically affect their military strength, whether that’s in Germany or elsewhere.

    9. Going to be more Americans than that. Think about all the contractors that support those 5000 troops.

Hahah he’s so stupid he thinks they are there for Germany’s protection, the fool doesn’t understand the concept of force projection.

Raising tariffs on the EU, removing troops from Germany, regular belittling/ridiculing of UK, Canada, Spain, threats to Denmark, and yet they have the gall to say Europe/NATO aren’t good allies.

    12. Grand-Atmosphere1501 on

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t that still leave about 30K US troops in Germany?

    13. Fair-Hair2080 on

This was part of Putin’s request during that 90 minute conversation, I’m sure. Everything this administration does or doesn’t do benefits one country…and it’s not the U.S.

    14. As a German: I couldn‘t care less. Nobody in Germany does. Foreign soldiers on German ground leaving is fine in everybody‘s book. Eventhough 5k is only a fraction of the troops stationed in Germany, this is a way bigger geo-political loss for the US than anybody else. All the US infrastructure stationed in Europe getting weakened. Just another charade by Trump and his goons that primarily harms the US and NATO

The guy who sharts his pants daily is butthurt that Germany correctly assessed Donnie has no strategy.

      Putin’s plan coming along nicely.

Putin gets Europe, Trump/gop get the Americas was the plan.

‚A senior Pentagon official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said recent German rhetoric had been „inappropriate and unhelpful.“‚

boy sure must suck when someone accurately and clearly calls you out on the war you started

      also

‚Trump has chastised NATO allies, too, for not ‌sending their navies to help open the Strait of Hormuz.
„The president has been very clear about his frustrations about our allies‘ rhetoric and failure to provide support for U.S. operations that benefit them,“ the senior Pentagon official said.‘

Fascinating. What part of ‚attack iran for no reason and destabilise the fuel supply of the globe‘ benefits other countries?

    18. Merz is right though. The Iran war is pretty embarrassing for the US and there is no exit strategy

    19. Good for Germany. The US is not trustworthy. A country that elects Trump twice is not fit as a partner, much less a friend.

It’s almost like the pedophile bastard is doing whatever he can to destroy the u.s. both domestically and abroad.

Gee, I wonder who could benefit from this? Sure as fuck ain’t the americans.

    21. This idiot Trump thinks we have troops in countries all over the world to help those countries and not to boost our own military power.
