For 350g it’s around £2.90 in the UK. That’s around 10.50 in lari, for comparison.

Well each importer has to add profit margin, each distributor has to add profit margin, each chain or shop has to add profit margin, all of them have transportation and other operational and overhead expenses, they would definitely move to end consumer. This logistics network is result of inefficient governance, and of course the gov.media will do its best to soften the difference, on top of general incompetence.

What I have found, while trying to import products to Georgia to generate economic substance, is that after freight duties and vat, it’s uncompetitive.
I’m still looking for something to import, but with Nutella, it’s pretty much to be expected. You’re importing to a different country. France is part of Europe. Europe to all intents and purposes purposes operates as one country so it’s made in Europe and sold in Europe no way to compete with that.

Nutella is made with child slavery, so it’s completely unethical for those cost savings not to be passed on to the consumer.

They use tricks because People in Georgia lack basic economic knowledge, 8 euro for france citizen is 0.275% of their monthly income while here 18 lari is 1.2% of their monthly income.

sure with the price conversion they are tricking you that it makes sense but come on. with a average salary of a population (and i mean average salary of a population) in EU that is like lets say 1K euro atleast. its more affordable and cheaper than the paycheck we get in georgia. say 1K lari again.
