    1. **In Brief:**

      * **United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told Canadians looking for insights into the future of bilateral trade this week that “America First” is policy, not a slogan, and they should not expect a return to the way things were.**
      * Sources who attended a roundtable with U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade czar in Washington on Wednesday told The Canadian Press that Greer laid out the administration’s policy goals ahead of the coming review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico-Agreement on trade, better known as CUSMA.
      * About 40 people attended the event hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada, including Conservative MPs Jamil Jivani, Michael Chong and Shuvaloy Majumdar. Also in the room were multiple executives from oil and gas companies.
      * **One source said Greer cautioned that Canada should not attempt to use energy or  critical minerals resources as leverage in negotiations on the trilateral trade pact.**

In wonder how soon some politicians will urge us to stick with the US over any other trading partner?

I know he is speaking to a domestic audience, but man why even bother. MAGA won’t understand beyond what Trump has already and it just makes him (Greer) look dumb when he is supposed to be the professional.

Then they shouldn’t get mad when we dont prioritize them, they want to be isolationist, why should they be upset when we let them?

Ok. I knew a kid in elementary school named Jimmy. Jimmy was Jimmy First. Always wanted to take the first turn. Always wanted first dibs on all the toys at recess. When he got the toy he wanted, he would still demand other kid’s toys, even if he couldn’t use them. Eventually, Jimmy was alone in the corner, just yelling at everyone else having a good time.

The irony will really come when they try to reverse all of this insanity. Should be pretty entertaining to watch

    7. No critical minerals for those morons. America has next to none and we can just let them get left behind till they shift policy

      K. We get it. Why do you think our PM has been flying all over the world for the past year making trade deals?

CARROT: “Greer said the United States is looking to work with Canada on energy and critical minerals development in ways that would be mutually beneficial to both countries, the sources said.”

STICK: “Greer also maintained that the Trump administration’s objective is to reduce Canada’s trade deficit with the U.S, sources said. Canada’s trade deficit is linked to U.S. purchases of oil and energy.”

So the US wants more access to energy and critical minerals but to decrease the trade deficit. Sounds like Robert Kennedy Jr math lol. Or maybe we’re suppose to just give them free access then it will all automagically balance. Wild times ahead.

Yeah. We get it. The wealthiest nation on earth has put the greediest people in charge.

That doesn’t make them better than the other 7.6 billion people on the planet.

    11. A bilateral agreement offering benefit to both countries is achievable.

However, American binary politics requires a deal consisting of a winner (America) and a loser (the other country).

Why would we want to trade with a country that aims to see us lose?

      America First policies:

      – Giving Americans skyrocketing gas and grocery prices
      – Sending their boys to die in foreign wars
      – Antognizing Canada and Europe
      – Invading a South American country for oil
      – Destroying trade relations and making the world pivot away from using US as the defacto trade hub
      – Failed deportation policies that incite riots
      – Debt grown to over 39 trillion
      – US car sales declined 3% from 2025
      – US international tourism down 5.5% from last year, causing billions in losses

If I were American, I’d think these „America First“ clowns were treasonous

    13. “The Trump policy is to reduce Canada’s trade deficit with the U.S.” This is flat out stupid. They have ten times our population and they’re dependent on our oil and power. It is not possible for us to buy anywhere as much of their product and dufus et al are demanding.
The real policy, I suspect, is to strip us of mineral resources and anything else of value while trying to force their substandard dairy products on us.
