Edit. This comment seems to have struck a nerve with Reform supporters who don’t like being labeled as extremists. Well suck it up and think about how it feels for Muslims to be labeled terrorists and refugees to be labeled rapists.

The clip isn’t in the article. The description seems to infer that the worker refused service without context or qualification in the clip and the *poster* is claiming it is because they are a Reform voter.
On the surface it sounds like rage bait…
I don’t know the whole context here.
How did he know who they voted for? What lead to this happening.
On the video alone he’s getting fired.

Forgive me if I’m wrong but didn’t the right argue that businesses and employees have a right to refuse service based on their personal beliefs?
Or does that only apply when it comes to rejecting Gay and Trans people?
Was he wearing a Reform rosette or badge. Otherwise the barman is using mind reading powers and technically should know what the punter wants to drink.

I live in Braintree where this Wetherspoons is, and there is a massive amount of Reform voters in this town. The town is covered in Union Jack and St George’s cross flags. He would be refusing service to a large portion of Braintree Wetherspoons’ customers if that is his genuine for refusing service.
Also, I am pretty sure there are many people round here who are further right to Reform.

Assuming the customer doesn’t have his political preferences stencilled across his forehead, how would the cashier even know?
Could the refusal of service have been a reaction to something the customer said or did off camera, with only the reaction being recorded?
Is it possible the customer referenced their politics to create the impression they were being refused on that basis, rather than for some other reason?
Most are increasingly wary of these kinds of videos – a click baity curated vignette presented without a wider context.
When I worked at Spoons years ago there was a tiny older lady called Linda who was the most savage grandma I’ve ever met.
There was an EDL rally in town that day and we were told to keep an eye out for trouble. At one point a big skinhead guy with a denim jacket covered in EDL badges walks up to the bar and asks Linda for a pint. Not missing a beat she dryly replies „Nah, I don’t serve fucking racists“ and casually walks away. Linda was a boss

Way people are piling in on the worker based off a 14 ish second gotcha clip missing the context of whatever triggered the interaction seems pretty irresponsible on the part of the media outlet given the public outrage these stories tend to generate
Maybe it went down like it says, and maybe the punter pulled something stupid to get themselves barred, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions in the current climate
Ok? Businesses can refuse service for any reason that isn’t a protected characteristic. Iirc Reform are in favour of removing some of those protected characteristics as well, so these punters experienced exactly what they’re voting for.
Weren’t reform supporters cheering on pubs banning labour a while ago……

Bizarrely the GB News article is actually more balanced, including a statement from Wetherspoons saying
