    1. Shit like this should not be separate legislation. Not stuffed into some money omnibus bill, that’s BS.

That said, if this is the change:

      > A spokesperson for the public safety minister said this change will not allow for warrantless search and seizure, but will make it possible for law enforcement to get warrants for all forms of mail.

      > Currently, officers can only get warrants for packages, and for mail weighing more than 500 grams.

That sounds like it makes sense. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to get a warrant for that.

    2. As long as they need a warrant, I don’t have a problem with it.

Why they try to hide this stuff in large budget bills is beyond me, especially with a majority government. I think most Canadians would be ok with this.

I’m perfectly fine with this. 500g of fentanyl is enough to wipe out all of Burnaby. I don’t think it has to be untouchable.

    4. I can and can’t be onboard with this. This is like making us a cashless society, it sounds good at first. But, then there’s hidden evils. It would be too easy to setup someone you don’t like and now they have a criminal record, lose their career, family etc.
