> Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has been invited to attend next month’s summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Armenia, European Council President Antonio Costa said on Tuesday, adding that **this marked the first time that a non-European country was taking part in the event.**

The EU wants access to the Canadian taxpayer credit card.

Hope he attends. We need to get as close as we can to Europe without actually being in the EU. Our roots are British and French, we need to embrace it especially now. Hope at some point we allow European cars makers into Canada, would love way more hatchback selection.

LOVE this. Stuff like this is specifically what I wanted from Prime Minister Carney — a wildly respected reputation and a desire for his leadership and insight from our European allies.

How long beige conservatives complain about the PM spending time away from canada or the cost of traveling to the meeting …. PP probably already working on the smear commercial. 🤣

Enjoy the trip but 0 interest in being part of the EU, which all of the news lately seems to soft launch in some way, shape, or form.

If this means better trade then great. If this means trying to be part of the EU, no. The EU has been pretty successful but it is encountering a lot of issues now, which is why the UK left. Being part of it means getting major decisions blocked by a pro Russian almost despotic country (thankfully now changed); propping up poorly managed countries (ie Greece); and allowing open borders to EU countries, which are having a lot of issues with migrants.

“Canadians outraged about Carney always leaving Canada to build trade relationships with other countries, after voting for him to build trade relationships with other countries.”
