  1. How is Bulgaria less Balkan than anyone, we literally have the mountain after which the peninsula is named

No matter, we’ll try to take it as a compliment..

I get that some of these are undefined and therefore I find this great, but when I see some don’t consider Sweden Scandinavia i start to wonder how useful this is 🤣

  3. “Is Austria Western Europe?”

    “Eh, not really sure, maybe.”

“Is it any of the others?”

    “Absolutely not!”

  4. Why do Scandinavia, Alpine, Atlantic, and Mediterranean need to be voted? 😅

    Otherwise, great work!!!!

Finland going hard, being part of:
Northern, Western, North-Eastern and Eastern Europe, Nordics, Baltics, Scandinavia and Fennoscandia.

I feel like France should be just a tiny bit brown in the Low Countries seeing as French Flanderns exist.

  7. I’m glad that most people think of Croatia as a Mediterranean country. Half of it is on the Adriatic coast dotted with vineyards, olive plantations, hot and dry climate, countless beaches and fresh food. Only people who haven’t travelled here or researched anything think it’s a depressed grey Eastern European shithole, while we’re a sunny Mediterranean shithole <3 (saying this lovingly)

  8. Its interesting how the small section of Germany that has alps make it an alpine region for many, but not as many the Ostfriesland a low region/country.

I guess its that a lot of non Germans know Bavaria and Alpine traditions like the Oktoberfest but not a lot about the Ostfriesland.

  9. Portugal is…

    – Western European
    – Southern European
    – Eastern European
    – Balkan
    – Southwestern European
    – Atlantic European
    – Mediterranean

NW Europe is the most interesting to me. In political science it means UK, France, Germany and Benelux

  11. Pretty interesting. Portugal’s association with the Balkans and the east is a meme obviously, but what I don’t get is Portugal as a Mediterranean country, it might have some cultural similarities to Spain and Italy but it clearly has zero direct access to the actual sea.

South Ossetia is landlocked and is only a black sea country in the sense that it is considered part of one.

For the US survey you’re doing, you **need** to correct the spelling of „Wisconsion“ (**Wisconsin**) ASAP, it’s annoying to see.

  12. Was interesting to see Hungary being considered as the most Danubian country… But it’s very true!! Many people, including me cross the Danube on a daily basis due to its central position in the capital, I would say maybe only Vienna comes close with how the population is split on the 2 sides.

Why the hell is Adjara just deleted? It’s not the first time I’ve noticed it either, recently some maps show it as being part of the Black sea for some reason. It is so weird, very random.

Estonia not really being 100% anything (even the baltics? What?) is somehow perfect

I’m curious about the significant number of people who seem to think Moldova is not in Eastern Europe but both Romania and Ukraine are.

  16. You can hate on central europe all you want and try to gaslight central europeans into thinking there is no central europe. But please look at that map. How can a non existent thing have so clear and well defined borders? Its sitting there right in the middle or the center of europe, like a massive slab of granite. Just sitting there in its boldness. The most aesthetic, its in the center, it has no weird borders, its perfection. Sorry i smoked something. Im a little fascinated by this map.

Croatia is southern Europe for FUCK SAKE I WILL FACEFUCK ANYONE THAT ARGUES OTHERWISE

Just finished the USA survey! I knew most of them, left the last box on “don’t know.” (The one with cotton/unchurched/etc)

    These are fun.

Odd that Russia is considered a Baltic country but Germany is not. Especially considering Germany’s historical extent
