    >WASHINGTON, April 24 (Reuters) – An internal Pentagon email outlines options for the United States to punish NATO allies it believes failed to support U.S. operations in the war with Iran, **including suspending Spain from the alliance and reviewing the U.S. position on Britain’s claim to the Falkland Islands**, a U.S. official told Reuters.

  2. LOL, no one should be surprised by this level of perfidy and ignorance on the part of the current US regime.

Not how NATO works. The Trump regime’s depth and breadth of self-actualizing stupidity is truly astounding.

Any nation or leader who thinks that Trump’s US is anything but a full-fledged authoritarian regime which cannot in any way be trusted to honour its treaty obligations, let alone its word and its historical commitments, is willfully naive.

Odious. Craven. Feckless. Corrupt. Vile. Malignant. Nihilistic.

  3. As a spaniard, this might have more support inside Spain than even in the US xD

Whisky Pete Hegseth must be drinking again. He and Kash Patel (J. Edgar Boozer) should be fired but Trump fires only female cabinet members.

    …or

The Pentagon can take half a second and reevaluate themselves before making things worse

    *Maybe we’re the problem?*

So he’s threatening annexing somewhere else again eh? (Falkland Islands)

  7. Soooo…

Given that Trump has tried to edit the US Constitution by executive order, I can absolutely imagine him “kicking Spain out of NATO” by executive order.

And since this is not how NATO works, expect lots of 3AM rants about Spain and Greenland, after it falls flat.

Trump: ”*I declare Spain kicked out*”

*nothing happens because that’s not how it works*

*days of 3am rants about how Spain was never liked, suck at everything, food isn’t even close to McDonalds. Also, USA should get Gibraltar from Great Britain and open tolls into the Miditerranean Sea*

  9. „Suspending Spain from NATO“ ***HOW?***

NATO/The Washington Treaty has no provision for such a suspension.

Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon is simply **making things up** again.

This is what happens when you let a dipshit president appoint a talking head from the Fake News Network as Secretary of ~~Defense~~ War [Crimes].

  10. The US doesn’t say who can and can’t be members of NATO, arrogant pricks.

It’s Not A Trump Organisation, it’s quite literally in the name, he can suggest it all he wants but it’s not his decision to make.

  12. General-Piece8490 on

Maybe Trump will sue Spain in court to harass it, like he does with his personal enemies in the US and even the UK.

  13. God i hope this fat fuck lives long enough to rot in a jail cell for a few years. Fucking moron

  14. woodpaulusgnome on

I’m sure that is not in their gift. NATO is an alliance not an autocracy.

  15. Im sorry, last time i checked, it was the US that wanted to leave NATO. Smh, we’re living in a pure US idiocracy world atm.

Is this because Spain refused to allow USA certain military aircraft to use its airspace?

  17. Upbeat_Parking_7794 on

Something US hasn’t any ppwer to do and other NATO members wouldn’t agree.

  18. EconomyDoctor3287 on

    What’s the goal here?

Supposedly the US is trying to come to an agreement with Iran to end their war, but every day, Trump and his TV show host cabinet are going out of their way demonstrating that they don’t honor agreements/treaties.

What even is the point of signing an agreement with the US administration, if they’re willing to unilaterally withdraw or exact not agreed upon punishments?

That’s skipping the part how a suspension of Spains NATO membership would practically look like.

The problem with a „mutual defence alliance“ is that the current US executive branch doesn’t know what those words mean.

What they currently *want* it to be is a „auxiliary military force“ that follows orders, like the early Roman republic and it’s Italian allies. Look up the „Socii“ if you want to see how unbalanced that relationship was.

  20. Ah yes, double down, double down again, double again.

Trump will go down as the most pathetic waste of space in world politics.

Man the USA sure is interested in disbanding nato entirely for some weird reason. Krasnov wouldn’t do that would he?

  22. Motherfuckers probably never tasted paella from Valencia or rabo de toro from Ronda. They wouldn’t dare talk shit if they had.

Review our claim to the Falklands?

Sure, let’s review the USA’s claim to that big chunk of North America while we’re at it. If anything it’s both more recent and less ‚legitimate‘.

  24. BasisOk4268 on

“Reviewing UKs claim to The Falklands” – let us know who gives a shit considering it’s not your territory to distribute. Absolute fucking melts in the US government I swear.

  25. Y’all keep using sane smart arguments to debunk the workings of a deranged stupid person is a fallacy of its own.

He’s nuts. End of. Let’s not react to him and just build around the fucker as much as we can 👌

  26. HotTestesHypothesis on

If you don’t like NATO, just fuck off. Or everyone can just make a new NATO and leave the US out. They’re part of the new Axis of Evil anyway.

  27. Persona_Insomnia on

I swear this moron thinks it stands for North American Treaty Organisation. It doesn’t work like that you orange idiot.

  28. Almost 4 in 10 Americans still support Trump. These people are so brainwashed, it’s impossible to reach them. They get **ALL** their info from Fox News, Breitbart, X and conservative talk radio. The propaganda goes on 24/7. And this has already been going on for decades. So there’s no way they’re suddenly going to start listening to factual information, and change their minds about Trump.

We have to face the fact that 4 in 10 Americans (almost all of them „conservatives“/Republicans) are beyond help, and that this shit won’t go away when Trump finally dies. It’s here to stay, as long as media like Fox News, Breitbart and X have a monopoly among conservative voters.

Anyway, loads of European politicians still refuse to say it out loud, but America’s role in NATO is pretty much non-existent at this point. It’s only a matter of time for Trump to *actually* side with Putin and halt all weapons deliveries to Europe. He’s already planning to [invite](https://www.reuters.com/world/trump-invite-russias-putin-g20-summit-miami-wapo-reports-2026-04-23/) Putin to the G-20 summit in December in Miami. He’ll probably invite him to Maralago too, because why not. And I bet Trump still has classified documents stacked in that brothel, for Putin to read while taking a dump on one of Trump’s golden toilets.

People, we need to work harder and faster in Europe to get rid of American dependence.

  29. How about the rest of NATO just builds NATO 2.0, moves on and just ignores the US for the time being?

What confuses me about this is there is nothing in the NATO constitution about its members being vessal partners to the US beyond buying into their industrial military complex.

  30. AshtonBlack on

There is no mechanism for „suspending“ an active NATO member.

Political theatre to pump his base for Klout only.

  31. Evilkenevil77 on

You can’t remove a nation from NATO without it being unanimous. Idiot.
