  1. *This administration is so ridiculous that if they weren’t destroying America it would make for a great Bravo series. I am all for a girl getting by however she needs, but some moron appointed her to a high ranking position in counterintelligence??. MAGA is the stupidest political movement in the history of America.*

„A formal complaint was filed against Julia Varvaro, a 29-year-old counterterrorism official, accusing her of keeping transactional relationships that [posed a security risk](https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-15742123/dhs-julia-varvaro-sugar-daddy-scandal.html), *The Daily Mail* reported on Wednesday.“

“Varvaro is on administrative leave as a result of the investigation and she is no longer serving in her capacity as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at DHS,” a department official told *The Independent.“

„She was appointed to her senior position in May 2025, shortly after earning a degree in Homeland Security from St. John’s University. Varvaro has attended several [MAGA events](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/steve-bannon-jd-vance-maga-trump-b2959735.html) and has been photographed with [President Donald Trump](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-truth-social-post-rigged-elections-b2963003.html).“

„The complaint, filed with the DHS inspector general, was submitted by an executive identified as “Robert B,” who said he spent approximately $40,000 on Varvaro during the course of their three‑month relationship after they met on Hinge.“

„Robert claimed in his complaint that Varvaro had created a profile on the sugar daddy site Seeking, on which she offered “seductive sophistication.”

“She told me that she does not have college debt because sugar daddies paid for her college education,” he continued, according to The Daily Mail. “I believe that she’s under financial stress and that her actions pose a security risk.”

„Marc Polymeropoulos, a former CIA official, said he found the allegations disconcerting.“

“Allegations of a sugar daddy relationship and unreported income from that relationship are serious issues for DHS security personnel that need to be resolved,” he told the outlet.“

“I would be curious to see what kind of vetting was done…”

I wonder if Trump voters have figured out that all that DEI/doge crap was pure projection. They got rid of the professionals and replaced them with the most corrupt and inept people Trump could find.

These stories are particularly infuriating to anyone who’s been subjected to the excruciating background investigations needed to get even a basic level job with government agencies like this, especially counterterrorism. This kind of stuff would’ve been weeded out almost immediately with previous admins and they’d be sent packing before they started. Here they’re just intentionally green lighting anyone who supports the agenda right away which is so dangerous

Edit: Trump himself wouldn’t make it very far in one of those investigations either.

You can get a degree in Homeland Security? Somehow that is more shocking than the sugar daddy stuff.

  5. Icy_Ratio6281 on

I’m sorry, I think our counter terrorism officials should not be officially „pay to play“.

  6. NotAnotherEmpire on

Seems unfair when she probably performed „favors“ to get that job as a 29 year-old with no legal, intelligence or military experience in the first place.

  7. Potential_Salt_5780 on

How is it possible that one person can have so many connections to terrible human beings?

  8. OptimisticSkeleton on

Given all the top counter terrorism officials are wildly inexperienced kids in their 20s, we can solidly blame any terrorist attacks that happen on Donald Trump and his shitty appointments to office.

    > “I didn’t know it was bad to go on vacation with your boyfriend,” she told The Daily Mail. “We were together in an exclusive relationship. We went on vacations. I don’t know what’s the problem with that.”

As someone that once held a TS/SCI, I’m speechless

  10. I’m sorry, Marc Polymeropoulos!? Now that’s a name, like he’s mayor of some futuristic k-nex style plastic city.

It really does feel like the writers of this simulation are just throwing everything at the wall now.

  12. PaddlefootCanada on

I don’t mean to be ageist… but she doesn’t look old enough to be getting coffee for the top counterterrorism official…

  13. It’s important to remember that the administration is corrupt and compromised for the top down. The old rule of “you can’t work for the government because you could be compromised by foreign powers” has become “the government has been compromised by foreign powers so we don’t care”.

  14. Tirianspark on

Top counter terrorism official.. yeah I feel so much safer with this 25 year old child at the helm.

  15. Straight out of college and straight to a senior level position in government?! Some of the brightest people I know who have ever gone into government always start at the bottom because that’s just protocol.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone from her family has deep ties to Trump or someone connected to him. It’s the not-fun version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Six Degrees of Pedo

    >She was appointed to her senior position in May 2025, shortly after earning a degree in Homeland Security from St. John’s University.

She got a degree in Homeland Security? What the hell? Is St. John’s a real university?

  17. thereverendpuck on

Wait. She stepped down because she asked for money from sugar daddies?

Isn’t that what Trump did to oil and tech executives in order to run in ‘24?

  18. Boring-Research410 on

The real scandal is that one of the top ranking official for counter terrorism is a 29 yo with no prior field experience

    >She was appointed to her senior position in May 2025, shortly after earning a degree in Homeland Security from St. John’s University.

  19. I’m more concerned about her age. How much experience in counter-terrorism can a 29 year-old have to be placed in a top position?

  20. Anyone else read this and thoroughly confused?

Nevermind if she should be in that position to begin with but the guy who was dating her (and supplying money) was the one who put in the complaint? Also DHS response about „…unreported income…“ made me do that Fry eye squint meme.

This admin is such a shit show, I do not even know where this story belongs or has any value, just add it to the pile of *sigh*

  21. JohnGillnitz on

Gosh, I wonder how a 29YO fresh out of college with no experience got a cushy job with DHS. I’m sure she interviews well.

  22. She is 29 years old and she was appointed to as Deputy Secretary of DHS right after graduating from University and no prior experience.

That should have been a major headline 10 months ago when she was appointed, but there’s too much going on.

  23. irishyardball on

Can someone explain how a 20 something woman could be come a „high ranking counterterrorism official“?

Seems like the DEI they are ok with is women they find attractive.

  24. ItzMcShagNasty on

She has/had a Top Secret Clearance, which would have required such a thorough background check designed to find kompromat, or material that could be used to blackmail her in exchange for state secrets. Seems like all the sugar daddy stuff, affairs and whatnot are pretty heavy in that category.

Our government has never been more compromised to foreign influence.
