Gestern habe ich einen Eurasischen Pirol entdeckt. Ich musste Gemini verwenden, um es zu identifizieren, weil ich seit vier Jahrzehnten auf der Insel lebe und noch nie einem solchen begegnet bin.
Treten diese immer häufiger auf oder laufe ich seit 40 Jahren nur mit geschlossenen Augen herum? (Ps. Ich bin kein Vogelbeobachter, vielleicht erreiche ich gerade endlich die "Vögel betrachten" Stadium des Älterwerdens!)
Hat sie jemand anderes in letzter Zeit gesehen?

Pretty creature.
They are called Whitsun birds in Europe because they arrive around late May. So they are probably passing through now from Africa on their migration north. Birdwatchers in Britain get very excited if they spot one there, but I think they’re quite common in Cyprus right now.

They migrate through Cyprus. Apparently arrived the day before yesterday. My brother in law saw one yesterday in Kalo chorio Nicosia in his garden and knows people at birdlife Cyrus who told him they had just arrived

Κλωρκος back when people didn’t have access to meat as much as now they used to hunt them as they were considered tasty. Due to their fig eating i guess
