      Trump’s Voter Suppression Act was never likely to pass in the first place, and Trump was possibly the only one who didn’t understand that.

      …Trump’s probably going to go on a rant online in a few hours about this, isn’t he?

      Its really a sad comment on our times that our „victories“ are at best temporary holding actions.

      I think very soon the billionaire class is just going to outlaw voting oh not at first it will be subtle like it always is but the train will suddenly gain steam.

      It didn’t said it failed to vote, did more digging. So, it failed to advance due to Thune on not advancing it. It will still be advance once Thune gets a phone call from Trump.

      In the last 72 hours, Trump’s voter intimidation bill failed in part because of Senate Leader Thune, who is facing calls to resign by fellow Republican voices, the Iranians have demonstrated he lies anout their negotiations, the tariff refunds are coming out, and stories are coming out about him being sidelined from military meetings.

      HE may think of himself as God, King, or whatever else he does, but he IS NOT.

      The guy is a fucking loser.

      He will lose his seat in the White House.

      Impeach. Remove. Convict. Confine.

      This is implying that they voted on it and it failed to pass.

      There was never a vote because Thune realizes that it’s dead in the water and they’re not going to remove the filibuster.

      The reason it has failed, I think, is that some of the Republicans realized that this would disenfranchise a significant portion of their own voters. The only way this bill would work in their favor would be if they could insure that it is only enforced in areas that tend to vote Democrat.

      Due to rightwing disinformation surrounding this bill, a lot of the MAGA people seem to think that the ID required is a drivers license, rather than a passport or birth certificate. They’re going to keep pushing for this bill because, they don’t understand that it might keep them from voting.

      Fuck all of this administration’s deceptively named bad faith “ideas”. Although I do think that bill would have hurt MAGA a lot – not many of them have passports.

      This was the one where women who took their husbands last name would have to jump through hoops to vote still? I think it was aimed at trans people but, like with everything, didn’t think it through
