  1. He could have also made some kind of case after the fact, pull up some financial figures about operational cost savings from having a provincially owned jet.

But the immediate flip to “we’ll sell it off” gives off the strong impression that there was no financial savings from doing this, and it was just something done out of incompetence, greed, or both.

  2. Honestly, I’m not opposed to the executives of the government of Ontario having a plane. Ontario is really big, and it has a lot of remote communities. Do we really want Ford in a van all day if he needs to go to Sudbury or something?

The fact he flipped on it so quick is a sign of what a weak politician he really is. If all it takes is a clever name from the opposition („gravy plane“) then are you really going to be Mr. Tough Guy with the US?

Yeah, but if he made the case first then it wouldn’t be as good of a distraction from him hiding his phone records. There must be some really corrupt and shading stuff in there, even more than what’s usual for him.

  4. The cuts his government has made have destroyed community support for diabled elderly. PSWs are so overworked and stretched so thin in my community that my mom has been left without service for days at a time. And he thinks there’s ANY case for his government to waste that kind of money? Fuck him, and fuck anyone who still supports him.

  5. I work for government and I have to make the case when I want or need say, pants, PPE etc.

A friggin jet. This is so absurd.
