    I wonder how well those nets protect against tungsten of ball bearing balls anyway. On a road it makes sense because the distance from the nets to the target is bigger so if a drone explodes, the spread is bigger and chances of hitting the target is smaller. But in those trenches the nets are only ~1 meter above the troops it seems so even if the drone hits a net and explodes, the spread is a lot smaller before it hits the target making it a lot more lethal.

    If the physics of the spread follows the same logic as the inverse square law, that makes a big difference.
