We suck at everything and are dropping standards to race to the bottom rather than just avoid eternal conflict.

Because Putin did the same thing in order to keep ending fodder to the front line.

  3. Revenge against millennials for being the only generation to consistently say fuck you to Trump

Because the USA is a corporation, war is our highest grossing product, and our lower income citizens without the means to increase shareholder value through other verticals are costly and thus expendable overhead.

  5. Can you even imagine being 42 YEARS OLD and enlisting? Do they have a special boot camp for men that age? And imagine some drill sergeant screaming in your face at that age. Seriously. No way that would work.

  6. So that broke millenial combat vets from Iraq and Afghanistan can re-enlist.

  7. Bc they are failing to meet recruiting goals and this administration is on the cusp of starting additional wars, i mean „excursions“

Next step is a draft. If you want proof of what’s coming, look what they just did with selective service registration

  8. Recruiting desperation. No one wants to die in a poopy pants market manipulation war 🫡

US having a direct war with Russia and China is likely in the next 1-2 years. Russia is aiming for the baltics in the next few months which will drag the rest of Europe into conflict.

Because as in so many other manufactured wars, there are not enough young people enlisted and tgis administrations, and is say that with all irony, disastrous economic decisions have left so many people unemployed that they will enlist just to be able to earn money to feed their families. And this administration will let them because they dont give a damn about American lives except their own worthless ones

The current administration is bent on having “military operations” in any country that opposes them

DEI for „real“ men who otherwise would not fit enlistment standards.

  13. Literally first paragraph of the article: „The United States army announced last month that it would raise the maximum age at which Americans can enlist from 35 to 42 years to expand its pool of eligible candidates amid recruiting challenges in recent years.“

  14. Desperation at the dwindling number of recruits who don’t wish to die in oil wars, maybe. Just guessing.

Things are starting to take shape.

War is probably the U.S. governments unofficial solution to A.I. replacing millions of jobs. If enough people die, that’s a lot less people who will not be looking for work.

Makes logical sense for why the age has been raised to 42. Enough people unable to find work.. you can always go work for Uncle Sam.

    Unemployment rate will surely drop.

  16. Because recruiting is too low for all of trumps wars. They can be pot heads now too

They want more people. Basic training isn’t *that* hard for anyone in reasonably-decent health, and many people in their late thirties are fine. Most military jobs themselves are definitely not as physically demanding as the average civilian might think

My only thing is imagining a 25 year old drill sarge yelling up at a 40 year old dude 🤣

Hear me out: it’s for most of the millennial student loan holders. I turn 40 this year, I haven’t made a dent in student loans and barely keeping my head afloat financially. This is me and my classmates can get eliminated and actually matter to the masters in charge while getting some financial gain in the form of war for them

Eligible men ages 18 to 25 will be registered automatically into the military draft pool by the end of this year.

Automatic registration aims to boost compliance with federal law requiring most males in that age bracket to register with Selective Service and addresses recent declines in registration rates

  20. The actual answer is the other branches had the age of 42, so this was to match an overdue change

  21. I can’t imagine going though basic at 42. And doing it with a bunch of 19 years olds would probably get old fast.

No one wants to join. Happened before. Early 2000’s Then, they raised the age, waived certain misdemeanors and felonies in exchange for joining. The result was horrible. Almost every (attractive) female recruit I talked to said the recruiter(s) tried to or did have sex with them and they were frightened. One girl was special needs, got a 9 on her asvab but spoke 6 languages. She was used by the recruiter multiple times and forced to sign an 6 year contract. She had no understanding of what she was doing. She just said, „he likes me and will take care of me“. All for a bonus. As a result, many of the recruits could not make it through AIT or ended up with multiple article 15’s, thrown in jail, and kicked out. There were a lot of awol individuals and many medboards. The cost to the govt was astronomical.
