Trump was not really in full control during a high stakes Iran rescue. The claim is that military leaders kept him away from the live command flow because they thought his behavior could mess up the mission. That is a big deal if true, because it means the commander in chief was treated like a political risk during a real military crisis.

Trump would have left the pilot in Iran to rot while he ran on rescuing him.

Sounds like the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. If only there were some pre-existing Constitutional mechanism for dealing with this problem.

Remember when they used to wonder whether he was „temperamentally suited“ to be president . . .

  5. Considering how trump feels about servicemen and ones that are wounded, captured or killed calling them stupid, losers etc….. they probably had meetings during his golf time, tv time or nap time but if that failed someone outside the room would jingle their keys in front of him distracting him

  6. Other reporting I saw had him mention jimmy carters hostage crisis tanking his reelection. I’d bet this POS wanted to have the downed pilot killed

Could you sideline him a bit more? Maybe into prison along with the rest of the Inner Party?

  8. If the military brass are sidelining the commander in chief then he needs to be 25th.

  9. If true this is super damning. A number of these folks are people Trump promoted to the job because they’ve kissed the ring so to speak, and these folks are so scared by having the man they report to being involved in a high stakes rescue mission that they basically keep him out and distracted so he’s not involved and messing it up making an order that will get the not only the target but inserted teams killed.

  10. Ordinarily this reporting would be a bombshell. It’ll be forgotten that military leaders saw the president as a liability so much that they needed to practically work in secret away from him by Wednesday.

  11. So following the clues, does this mean it was that army general that was fired a few weeks back was the one who sidelined his little temper tantrum?

Because that would make sense, to purge anyone who dares question dear leader.

President is not able to execute his duties. That should concern everyone. But alas, it doesn’t even move the needle.

So I’m reading this Jpost article , wondering about a few things. Are they saying that the president of the United States is unsound? Yes
Are they saying that it is the military that wants to put ground forces on Kharg island but the unsound president is stopping them from doing that? Yes
Is this a propaganda article that is completely pro Israel and attempts to forment division among people including Trump supporters? Yes
As much as I believe Trump was left out of the operation minute by minute updates because his input would be ludicrous and dangerous, I also believe we are in this mess because of Israel in the first place.

Interesting thing is that WSJ broke the story (credibility) and that despite same ownership (Murdoch) Fox did not pick up on it.

  15. It’s hard to concentrate on the topic when Grandpa is in the corner in his chair ranting about the good ol days and how it hurts his image. The adults need to realize Grandpa isn’t well and needs to be put in a home, and not in charge of an entire country.

But he said he was totally commanding the mission! Gasp, he wouldn’t lie would he? /s

  17. 2 Transport planes and helicopter gunships to rescue a pilot who we haven’t seen since? Also very close to a nuclear plant.

Hmm…..failed mission to grab the uranium?

Trump is the weakest president ever and fucking Buchanan literally did absolutely nothing as the civil war started

Thank God he’s a man, can you imagine if we’d accidentally elected an irrational woman instead? :O

everyone, including his staff, knows he’s unfit to serve as President.

  21. Reasonable_Skill580 on

This makes very little sense! There’s no way anyone ca keep the Commander in chief out of the situation room!

Probably because it’s totally untrue! There was no “rescue” of anybody. They tried to get the uranium from Iran and got attacked. They realized they couldn’t do it so left.
