    1. Interesting approach. Will it breakthrough the noise of influencers and podcasters though?

Is that because young college educated Canadians are moving to the US in record numbers?

    3. >“Carney has a problem with us. He gets on a plane and he goes to China,“ Lutnick said. „Does he think the Chinese economy is going to buy his stuff? China is entirely an export-driven economy, right? So what do you do? [Carney] came back and said, ‚Oh, we’ll take their electric cars.‘ I mean, is this nuts?“

      This is hilarious 🤣

    4. Its not the ties with the US thats the problem, its the over reliance and free trade agreements that Canadian politicians had an equal roll in creating.

The ties to any one country is a weakness. We aligned with the US because over the course of our shared history, we have mostly been in general alignment. That’s changed and it’s not changing back.

I suspect the rest of the world is seeing the same thing as well. The world decided to support America because it aligned with the values we all collectively agree on and was driving towards those goals. Now it’s not. So you gotta pivot and IMHO I would rather more trade with my European friends and Asia than just with the US.

I think Canada has woke up and realize that Depending on US will make Canada weak and powerless.

      The best part:

“Lutnick responded to a suggestion from Canada’s former trade negotiator, Steve Verheul, that time is on the Canadians‘ side because political pressure on the U.S. president is going to increase over time as the American economy wavers.

„That is, like, the worst strategy I’ve ever heard. They suck, they — look, we are a $30-trillion [US] economy, right?“ Lutnick said.”

Lutnick think that just because the American economy is big; that somehow that means Canada must remain beholden to it. He also has no valid response that Canada can just wait them out other than just saying “you suck”

Canada can clearly see that Trump’s political power could be waning. Trump can’t rip up USMCA without Congress. Democrats are poised to take the house in the fall and have a shot at the Senate. That would make Trump a lame duck president without real leverage who will be fighting constantly on oversight for the rest of his term.

Canada really does just has to wait, see if the midterms go against Republicans and then react accordingly.

Canada and the United States had the longest un-defended border in the history of civilization. And the Republicans under Trump managed to fuck that up.

I am so sorry, Canada 🇨🇦🦦

Bs..his investments are all over the world and with many US corps..military especially. Plays both sides..ready for the next currency update?

    10. That’s one way to fix the mess we have and perhaps get Dems in power to fix it like they always have. When will America realize GOP sends us to war and breaks our economy. Can’t be that stupid.

They are going to go bonkers on tariffs against Canada anyways. They are already trying to find ways to justify them. No more playing nice..We have to brace for the stupidity and intimidation that’s in the pipeline.

It is a very weak tie. Trump has made the trade relation extremely fragile by turning on and off tariffs just by feeling. It wasn’t always a weakness, but it is a huge weakness under Trump. Ultimately the US needs a more economy-oriented president to preserve their global trade power. TV show hosts just don’t have the skill for this position.
