Shouldn’t we focus on stopping weekly power/water outages in rural areas?
Usually with data center development the tenant of the data centers signs the lease ahead of time since data centers are a relatively risky industry (people don’t know how technology and needs will adapt in the 5-10 years it takes to construct a data center). Have they announced who will be using the data center?
It seems like it fully fits their announced budget size of ~$5bln.
A single server rack of 8 B200 GPUs with all other devices costs ~$300,000.
110,000 units would be 13,750 racks and cost $4.1 billion. Plus a ton of other costs like building, cooling, infrastructure, etc.
Good news, we’re getting the B200s which are one of the most advanced ones.
