      If this is true though, shouldn’t they be entitled to council tax rebates? They’ve probably been paying unowed tax for a long time now.

    2. The land an embassy sits on, is not, and has never been the territory of the respective embassy’s nation. 

      It is however protected from the intrusion of the host nation under the Vienna convention.

      The host nation can, with notice, expel diplomats or even close the embassy.

      It’s always worth keeping in mind that the UK has, since at least the 30s, been a very productive intelligence-gathering ground for foreign and/or hostile actors.

      This changes nothing whatsoever.
