Microsoft doesn’t care if you’re real or not, it just wants to sell you a license.

Companies will love that. More purchased for their products. Since you can spawn an unlimited number of AI agents and companies don’t release software physically anymore, its a win for those companies.

Ugh all I hear is gate keeping APIs behind a seat which would be terrible for the industry.
Why the heck would an AI agent need to use office 365??? That might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, I don’t even use office products when I script. The same function that takes excel infinite time and ends up crashing my instance takes Polars a second.
Every AI agent I’ve seen interfaces with APIs takes information and feeds it to an open ended “chat bot”with a prompt engineering initial header before feeding it information and waiting for a return.
So in order to do away with that you’d have to limit my ability to interact with APIs.

Oh look, another reason to not use their software.

Won’t be long before it’s a monthly subscription like Office 365. Leave it up to Big Tech to make every transaction a recurring subscription.

Microsoft using ai agent to make windows and then charging ai agent to use it lol

Then agents will just buy their own shitty product to replace the shitty licensed product.

I mean MS has been selling their platform to corporate for years, they know how this works. They’ll just move onto selling it in some other form.

The answer to that question is expressed by the experience of those who went through Core licensing periods. Got a new CPU with 64 or more threads? Back when we would pack those Xeons and CPU licensing between datacenter down to standard editions. We know this answer already.
Yes. This is also for pretty good reason too. If the LLVM is gonna work like a „real“ person, then why not compartmentalize that licensing and accountability.
Knowing dang well, small business is gonna short cut things. We’ll see a lot of the smaller businesses sharing their accounts. The Paralegal who uses his boss’s accounts for Adobe, MS, EDP, Lexus, etc. That’s where our fun begins! The Marketing Agency where the boss wants to save a few subscriptions, and shared the whole business portfolio to the AI agents. The small medical practice where the main EHR account is probably shared to get around a API fee.

Who in the living god darn heep of sludge we call earth would run an agent on windows!?!?!

Why would a mass deployed coding machine not just spend a few thousand dollars worth of tokens to improve off the shelf open source programs to cover whatever proprietary software does better so that they don’t need to buy software licenses for literally millions of Ai agents that only exist for twenty minutes each.
This is like trying to sell a bridge to someone who physiologically can only shit entire bridges.

Oh definitely. They will absolutely have a top tier licensing model, if not on day one then at least a cocaine pricing model where your annual renewal will show up and kill your annual budget.

No way. Otherwise Microsoft could sell licenses to entities that don’t need to exist.
They would have a license to cook their books any way they wanted with this

How long until they’re getting paid per task so that each agent can afford its respective license?
