They had the guards doing the snoopy walk
You’d love to think people would not fall for this but the level of “middle Ireland” and older/rural folk still on Facebook and believing it is concerning.
Hardly needed to be debunked
There was also some clownshoe on Twitter the other day giving some Oscar worthy story about how a restaurant asked the gardai to leave and when people started asking for receipts she suddenly wanted to „protect the restaurants privacy“.
Never underestimate what a sad, lonely, insecure gimp will do for a few minutes of attention on the internet.
That article repeats two paragraphs halfway through. They’re obviously correct about this, but editorial standards at the Journal are at an all time low.

A woman I went to school with reposted it to her Facebook saying something like “well done, we’re finally pushing back and defending ourselves.”

Lads, I feel like we’re having a real go at educating people on the finer points of identifying AI-generated content. But then this comes along and you find out people believe it? FFS
A bunch of my older relatives believed this, along with that AI generated copy/paste from „an Ambulance Driver“ claiming he’d never had such an easy time as during the protests.
You can’t debunk emotion … sadly
This modern day parable will continue to inspire the believers
We need to have some „political agitation“ offense to deter people from creating and spreading clearly falsified propaganda.
