Ukraine’s drone teams are putting huge pressure on Russia’s oil industry. Just in March 2026, they hit 10 oil refining sites and terminals, part of a bigger wave that struck 15 strategic energy facilities overall.
From the massive fires at Tuapse (still burning days later) to deep inland strikes on places like Novo-Ufimsk, Yaroslavl, Kirishi, and as recently as earlier today on Novokuybyshevsk – these attacks have knocked out up to 40% of Russia’s seaborne oil export capacity at peak (around 2 million barrels a day)
Russia consumes roughly 3.8 to 3.9 million barrels of oil per day, so this is going to hurt
