Sounds like Amazon is tired of these selling. Walmart makes a better one these days anyways.
Google did the same with Android TV.. once the ecosystem matures, the walled garden always wins over openness
That was the only reason I ever purchased a Fire Stick lol. Other than the ability to sideload apps, the Fire Stick is pure garbage.

God I wish they would have done this when I still worked retail before the pandemic. I hated that fucking fire stick. A bunch of idiots walking into the store every single day “I need a… what’s it called? Fire stick? I hear you can get anything you want on those for free! Please tell me in excruciating detail for the next hour how to do it and repeat it all 4 times. Actually never mind just come to my house on your own time for free and do it for me.”
So good. I’m glad they’re locked down. Fuck the fire stick.
