From what I understand, it’s pretty expensive for bands who are inducted to attend. They have to pay for a bunch of stull (like to reserve the table they’d sit at) so chalk that up as another reason not to go. I mean, I know the band can afford it, but just because they can pay, doesn’t mean they’d want to pay.

Why would any non-American band want to come to this shithole country right now? Especially considering they have to PAY to receive the award.

(They aren’t paying for the induction or inclusion, but rather their accommodations for the ceremony.)

  3. Maiden has been very vocal in their disdain for the RNRHOF, especially Bruce Dickinson.

    Let’s see:

Play shows for people who will see them no matter what.

    OR

Go to a ceremony that took 2 failed nominations to get inducted.

Yeah, I’d choose the former too

They’ve got gigs in Australia the day before and after the ceremony. Literally physically impossible without cancelling the gigs.

This is the way. No self-respecting rock band would deign to participate in this crass, cynical event.

Ummm they’ve already committed to the Australian shows. The term „they would rather“ is just made up.

I’m assuming there is all sorts of DEI bullshit in the nominee process, that’s the only explanation why dogshit like Mary J Blige and Kate Bush is in ahead of one of the greatest rock and metal acts in history.

Edit: also just realized Alice In Chains isn’t in there either. What a joke.

Get paid to play a gig in front of your fans

Or show up to this event, be forced to pay 5 figures per table under the guise that the $ is going to some charity (it doesn’t). Then you can play to a room full of industry peeps, line some board members pockets for the year while they use the threat of bad press to create pressure for your appearance and dictate who’s inducted

The whole premise of a Hall of Fame is ridiculous

Note that has nothing to do with the museum. Totally different organization

It’s named the rock and roll Hall of Fame, and it has a lot of rock and roll stars inducted too. But it also has so many non-rock and roll stars inducted they’ve really become a bit of a joke. Anything for attention. How did some of those pop stars get in before the likes of iron maiden? It doesn’t make sense.

The rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame has been what the Kennedy Center is now

    Their praise means nothing
