      I don’t know why a law is needed for this, at least in the US.

      If you don’t want to be tracked, stop carrying a tracking device with you.

      If you insist on carrying a tracking device with you, always assume you’re being tracked.

      Don’t stop with precise. Also ban any form of IP Geolocation (whose lack of precision is a different problem).

      Go further. Ban the sale and unauthorized exchange of ALL personal information.

      the problem isn’t the data existing, it’s who has access to it and how it’s used

      banning everything usually sounds good until you realize it breaks useful things too
