It’s clear these people had ties to governmental research agencies and were disposed of when deemed necessary.

I personally believe they’ve all been sheep-dipped and relocated to some underground or off-world facility.
Perhaps something big is coming and these scientists are being “preserved” for continuity purposes.
This is all wild speculation of course.

IMO just a distraction, smoke screen to hide how funding cuts killed science. Given hundreds of thousands of scientists in the US this number of deaths is probably normal, it’d be weird if there weren’t this many.
Next, you’ll say that there’s something fishy about the Clinton’s and how many of their friends just randomly disappear or die ?
