China protestiert heftig gegen Japans Stärkung seiner Verteidigungsfähigkeiten und nennt dies eine „Wiederbelebung des Militarismus“. Führungskräfte in Nachbarländern wie Taiwan, Singapur und den Philippinen begrüßen den Schritt und halten ihn für längst überfällig.

Militarily China is getting too powerful even for the US to contain alone. Other democratic countries need to boost their defense if they want to stay free and independent.
This has less to do with events occurring 90+ years ago and more to do with China’s desire to have total naval control over the region.

If only we knew why countries in that region are feeling the need to militarize… If only.
