Related podcast with Grenier and Fournier where they discuss byelections, federal and provincial polls, and the Liberal and CAQ conventions (which they attended):
Interestingly, Fournier actually commissioned the latest Pallas poll. Glad to see his compositing is generating enough revenue to „give back“ to the pollsters.

Edmonton-Riverbend would have been an informative byelection if Jeneroux had resigned as he initially said he would because then we would see how the CPC do defending one their own ridings, which imo is what we need to see in order to determine how badly they’re doing.
Their drop in vote share in the recent byelections, despite such a drop being unusual for them historically, can still be mostly attributed mostly to the fact they weren’t competitive at all in any of those ridings. If their support drops hard in a byelection where they are competitive, though, then that would be a really big red flag that even PP’s strongest defenders would struggle to explain away.

The thing that people who still support Poilievre as leader haven’t come to grips with yet is that they’re being misled by the vote share the Conservatives got in the general. That whole election was an anomaly, more of an unpopularity contest between who hated the ghost of Justin Trudeau and who hated Poilievre more. That explains a lot of the implosion of the NDP, who might have expected some fallout from the deal with the Liberals, but otherwise hadn’t seen any policy change or scandals that would explain their showing, too.
Poilievre, by embracing Diagalon, Proud Boys, etc, alienated a large part of Canada, and that stink is gonna stick. Between that and his inability to convey any overall strategy for moving the country forward (besides the usual vague „aspirations“), he’s unelectable.
The other thing his supporters don’t understand is that the floor-crossers are simply expressing the same frustration with Poilievre that Western Separatists feel about being ignored by Ottawa and unhappy with what is being done over their objections.
