With universal public healthcare, I’m sure it’s a net savings to the tax payer.
      Personally idgaf

      OP, serious question.
Say there’s a person with a chronic condition experiencing excruciating pain 24/7
Say they know their condition will never go away, and that it will kill them relatively soon.

The doctor gives them the option to leave early.
      They take it.

What problem do you have with that ?

So 1 out of every 400 people in Canada are killing themselves? Is that right?

The problem is taking care of itself. Settler colonial states were destined to be shitholes without new markets to expand to. Go lie in the bed you made for yourselves.

„Using tax dollars“ well yeah, that’s what universal healthcare is. I worked in an ICU for years. Our „tax dollars“ also pay for nurses and doctors to remove life sustaining measures from critically ill patients. Should we use more tax dollars to keep people artificially alive for as long as possible?

The ads are grim for sure but we should get better about talking about death and how it affects families and patient dignity.

This reminds me of that old movie Soylent Green where Edward G Robinson’s character just walks into a clinic to end his life. Everything is made to look so peaceful and serene. This line of thinking has been in the works for decades.

That’s what living in Canada does to anyone, but mostly men. Main reason why all of their young white women flock to the US.

    8. Speaking of conspiracy … just gave me a flashback to I think an early college or late high school psych class, can’t remember . But the teacher shows US a doc / video about it when it first came out only in one country. Now looking back… it’s pretty weird they were even advertising it or wanting us to think/ know about it. I understand it’s an interesting thing to study psychologically , but now with this kind of imagery, makes me think some wanted promoted on purpose … depopulation ?

I have that wish and already sign the papers for when the time comes. Seeing my mother suffering like hell before dying was enough. Im single so no one to agree with

What I find offensive is that it’s called assisted suicide when it’s not that (not English native). It’s dignity and control of your life

Dude the people who Patricipate are begging to die with some decency. It’s so hard to get it approved, it takes months, and 3 doctors. In Canada specifically. Vast majority of the time it’s elderly people who are in so much pain day to day and have done everything they wanted to in life. Where it gets dicey is when they were looking to expand it to mental illness, but approval for that is unlikely. And a lot of medical providers are against it. And a lot of mental illness is due to plain old poverty.

Now that is dystopian. I expect nothing less from a country that fell to communism over the course of a weekend.
