Good news. Looking forward to a time when the US has less leverage over these vital tools

„It is a highly complex undertaking with a very optimistic target set by (the company Fire Point) that has, in the past, made bold public promises that it has not always been able to keep.“

Yeah I reckon Ukraine has been into this for a year or two once it was obvious the war was a long one and I do believe they will achieve something just as good if not better as necessity matters

I see people in comments sections going on about how American defense contractors must love Trump.

Then I look at the actual news and see former international defense customers finding alternatives to American gear and the US going to war without first ramping up defense production.

Do American defense contractors loce Trump? I kind of suspect that they don’t.

  5. Very good, even if the US was a reliable partner $4-4.5m/Pac3 interceptor is not a sustainable cost for a modern conflict. Modern electronics are relatively inexpensive, and perhaps a lot of complex structure manufacturing can be done with 3d printers/automation/scaling.

If something as complex as a 65in TV can cost under $500, and a car under $30K, it should be possible to mass-produce a 5m tall interceptor missiles for $100K or less.
