In der Pufferzone finden bedeutende Entwicklungen statt Pyla als Folge der türkischen Bewegungen in der Region; Nach Angaben von CNA wurden dort 15 Panzer stationiert, während auch erhebliche Truppen von den britischen Stützpunkten stationiert wurden.
Auch Dutzende „Polizisten“ in Zivil trafen vor Ort ein und an einer bestimmten Stelle in der Pufferzone wurde eine türkische Flagge gehisst, ein klarer Versuch, den Status quo in der Gegend zu ändern.
Vorausgegangen war in den vergangenen Tagen ein Streit zwischen der Besatzungsmacht und den USA UNFICYP.
