But as a part of an increase in funding to the entire justice system so that we no longer throw out cases because it took too long.

A thousand times, I’ve seen the argument that judges are being lenient with sentencing because there’s limited capacity in jails.
Ford expands that capacity and it’s something he needs to defend?
At some point, the legal crowd needs to admit that they simply don’t believe in about 80% of the enumerated purposes of sentencing as outlined in our Criminal Code. Here I’ll go ahead and strike the ones out that the legal profession appears ready to completely dispense with.
>Purpose
>~~718 The fundamental purpose of sentencing is to protect society and to contribute, along with crime prevention initiatives, to respect for the law and the maintenance of a just, peaceful and safe society by imposing just sanctions that have one or more of the following objectives:~~
>~~(a) to denounce unlawful conduct and the harm done to victims or to the community that is caused by unlawful conduct;~~
>~~(b) to deter the offender and other persons from committing offences;~~
>~~(c) to separate offenders from society, where necessary;~~
>***(d) to assist in rehabilitating offenders;***
>~~(e) to provide reparations for harm done to victims or to the community; and~~
>~~(f) to promote a sense of responsibility in offenders, and acknowledgment of the harm done to victims or to the community.~~
There we go. Fucking streamlined. We’re left with exactly one purpose of sentencing still in place, the one that revolves entirely around the convicted criminal and their wants and desires. Just as intended.

I feel like he would have to do less defending if any of his plans actually work as advertised. Can’t wait to see how this one fails much like all of his plans to improve healthcare.
I have little faith in him improving this part of the province much like after all these years of a majority he has struggled to do every little task.

That is needed. Don’t know why anyone would complain about that. Overcrowding is far worse and that’s what we have now.
