A recent convert to Catholicism who has been openly coveting a dead man’s wife on television has advice for the appointed emissary of God on this earth because well, he knows better.

      *laugh track*

    2. Going off previous behaviour from JD towards Trump when he compared him to Hitler, this is a clear sign that JD has ambitions towards becoming the next Pope.

    3. You know things are off the rails when our idiot vice president thinks he can school the Pope.

Growing up in the Catholic Church, the worst people to be around were white male converts to the faith who think they had it all figured out, no gray, just black and white, a rule book, and were willing to tell everyone and anyone what it meant to „really be Catholic.“ We called them Captain Catholic. Vance is that guy and thinks the VP slot gives him the authority to combine with his moralism. These jackasses are nothing new in the Church. We’ve just put one in a high profile political office and he needs to show fealty to his boss.

I’m an atheist, and my jaw dropped when I watched him say this.

Like, dude – this is the conduit to very creator of all the universe in accordance with *your* religion. *If* he is a believer, then JD is openly choosing Trump over his god.

    6. Pope-killer Vance is still upset that making love to furniture is against the Catholic religion.

One day earlier and he was all, „You just get the humor of blasphemy.“

“I think the President was posting a joke. Of course, he took it down because he recognized a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor in that case.” – JD Vance on Monday

JD Vance getting heckled for talking theology at a Turning Point event? Now that’s a plot twist worthy of a Netflix special!

Would be a shame if he got excommunicated right before his ‚How I Became a Catholic‘ book comes out

Be careful? Because nothing says devout Christian quite like threatening the pope.

    11. JD, you’ve been a Catholic for like five seconds. Unless you want Leo to shoot purple lightning from his hands or him to use Mjolnir against you, I’d shut the eff up.

That’s like a lay person telling Albert Einstein to be careful when he talks about science.

    13. If he takes this a fair bit further he could be risking excommunication. That would be interesting.

Vance comes across like the world’s lamest mobster trying to intimidate an expert witness. „You know, you should be careful how you speak on matters of theology.“ As if someone hasn’t quite literally said the „if you know what’s good for you“ part out loud with the mention of an Avignon papacy. Jesus H. Christ, this is a fucked up timeline.

Its insane that they think their christian nationalism bullshit will make peopel walk away from the pope. im not reliegious but hes the fucking pope. He has a lot more sway with religion then fucking Maga Asshats

    16. QuiGonColdGin on

For a bunch of people who are fronting as bible thumping Christians, they sure are anti-Christian. Such is the great contradiction of the mental illness known as MAGA.

    17. The pope is, by definition of the religion he purports to be, literally infallible when it comes to matters of theology. He is Jesus’s emissary on Earth. Inheritor of the church that was built upon the rock himself, Saint fucking Peter.

    18. ImLikeReallySmart on

      >“I certainly think that in some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality,” Vance told Fox News‘ Brett Baier. “To stick to matters of, you know, what’s going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the United States stick to dictating American public policy. But when they’re in conflict, they’re in conflict.”

Real journalists would then confront Vance about going to the EU and scolding them over their internal policies and his campaigning for Orban

    19. Isn’t „matters of theology“ pretty much the job description for the pope?
