While its nice that justice is being served, why are we picking and choosing who justice applies to?

This is important. Swalwell, until this all came to light, was a charismatic up and comer. There’s an alternate universe out there where the Democratic Party digs in and doesn’t look to oust him, citing Trump as the new extremely low bar for an ethical public official.
That they didn’t and he’s stepping down is a sign we’re going to, with time, be able to recover from the Trump era. Albeit with scars and wounds

Hey so I’m all for throwing this rapist in jail, but this isn’t journalism — it’s a quote from a Fox News interview of a MAGA politician and they haven’t even verified that the video is authentic.
“Newsweek has seen the video, which has circulated on social media in recent days, but has not independently verified its authenticity, origin, or context. Luna also claimed she had been told the individual who recorded the video may have been underage. Newsweek has not seen nor confirmed any forensic report referenced by Luna, or the allegations she described, and has contacted her office for further details.”
Posting unverified claims and videos is exactly how these people come back and say their crimes are fake news. If it turns out this video is AI, Swalwell can use that to get all of his crimes pushed under the rug.
For the record – if this video is verified – I’ve seen it and the implication of what comes next is recognizable to any young girl who has found herself alone in a hotel room with a group of drunk men. I hope that girl is ok.
Sorry for the women that were harmed. Hopefully justice brings them to light. Regardless of party this should never happen to men or women.
