I find this funny reading this on a never-ending scroll screen. *Continues to scroll*

Absolutely. I think we should also anticipate that when scrolling is banned doom refreshing will be next.

cool so instead of infinite scroll we’ll get a „load more“ button every 50 posts. truly groundbreaking regulation right there

I use Reddit on my phones browser exclusively because of the fact it constantly crashes and reloads my entire feed. Frustrates the shit out of me and keeps me from scrolling continuously.

it’s not the scrolling but the amount of stories. a daily newspaper has only less than 50 articles/stories on any given day, magazines are even less. that 50 is what you get for the day, nothing more. you can read them over and over again, or re-read yesterday’s news but that’s it.

I like how in pretty much every state, no matter if it’s a G-7 country or some poor remote sh*thole of the world, the universal approach of every politician is to just ignore all major issues and focus on some insignificant crap.

    7. I think the actual regulation that needs to be implemented is to either get rid of recommendation algorithms or always default to „chronological from who you follow“ view as in the olden days.

infinite scroll was literally designed by a slot machine engineer. It was never about user experience, it was always about addiction.

    9. He’s right on this but wholly a wet blanket in doing much beyond showing concern.

Dude feels comfortable bent over for the Yanks, he won’t act against their tech companies. He could enter his government into combat with big tech if he actually had the cahones to articulate any kind of robust moral stance where it actually mattered.

Instead he believes that a technocratic daddy state’s the answer.

      Realistically will that do anything?

Before the days of infinite scrolling there was ’next page‘.. Many hours lost on SomethingAwful.
