Die Registrierung für die Japanische Sprachprüfung (JLPT) endet aufgrund der gestiegenen Bewerberzahlen vorzeitig, was es schwierig macht, Prüfungsorte zu sichern.

  1. I mean. It’s my fault for opening that can of worms, but what do the Yahoo comments want lmao. Just shut the country down, if you don’t have pure Japanese blood go away? JLPT takers should all be applauded no??? Or I guess they just hate everyone/

  2. Given the importance of the JLPT for some jobs, universities, and visas, and also given how popular Japan has become as a place to visit and live, and also given issues such as limited test sites, limited test dates, test sites filling up quickly, and a new ban on non-residents taking the exam in Japan, it would be great if either the JLPT were made more widely available (e.g., increased offerings in more locations) or if an alternative to the JLPT emerges.  It’s not impossible; there are many proctored exams such as the GRE and the TOEFL where they’re taken on computers in testing centers, and where there are far more exam dates.

The SAT has the ACT as a competitor, and Advanced Placement has the International Baccalaureate program as a competitor.  It would be nice if the JLPT had a competitor.

Typical Japan. Plan to start requiring JLPT (or alternative, of which there are almost none) for visa status/immigration, but ensure that most people are unable to actually take the test. Then, it’s the immigrants fault when they get denied since they lack the required qualifications.

oh who would have thought making a new policy whereby visas now require proof of language proficiency leads to more people looking to acquire said proof of language proficiency.

man all of this is so complicated why is it again that Japan’s economy is going down the drain? something something foreigners are ruining the country

Wow glad I registered for N1 when I did then. I registered on March 30th but I didn’t pay until the next day. I was really surprised to see that N3 and N4 were already closed. I wonder if I would have lost my spot if I didn’t pay soon enough? It said I had until April 13th in the e-mail, but seeing that some levels closed. I didn’t want to take my chances.
