And with that the Liberals have swept all 3 byelections tonight! That’s 174 seats vs. 169 for the opposition I believe.

Of the 3, I think the Liberals will like this victory the most. Canada, for the moment, is kind of on the same page.

It’s been a wild ride for Terrebonne since the election last year! I hope for their sake they can settle down to a little less election related drama, lol!

From being projected to have only 9 seats by the end of the 2025 election to securing a majority in less than 2 years is genuinely crazy

Number to note is last time around CPC won 10000 votes in this riding, this time around they are barely above 1000.
Its something else to see the complete decimation of CPC under PP

The amount of power Carney has now is crazy, not only because he has a majority but the fact that pretty much all their success is tied to him and his high approval rating. Within reason Carney can shape this country however he sees fit.

If anything this win blunts the message a bit that the liberals only won a majority through backroom deals. They improved their lead in terrebonne so if anything they’re also electable

The percentages bely the fact that this wasn’t a case of the Bloc and the Liberals becoming more popular. The Liberals and Bloc turned out almost as many voters as last years elections; they were both very motivated. It’s the other party supporters that stayed home, particularly the Conservatives who made a decent showing in the last election but all stayed home this election.
Quebec Conservatives have to be looking at these numbers and doubting the Conservative leadership. I understand that the Conservatives were not in the race, ut it’s clear that the party brass didn’t even try.
